Returning fans that kept checking back on Mariseya’s socials every so often since mid last year for new releases and still landed on there only to realise that they’ve again just made another ouch revisit to her old music and felt starved for so long can now cup their itching ears in her direction for her amazing new authentic sounds that are truly super pleasing to the ear.
Oh yeah, she now has a ready streak of new songs to quench their sounds hunger.
Mariseya’s return is not a single track feed, she comes back with a compensation plan: dropping an EP, of course to make up for every fan’s long wait. A single release can’t do this compensating duly. An EP does it!
The JoA EP (Journey of Adjoa EP) is a six-track multi-genre project jointly produced by Anders Media of Belgium and Kiddo Music of Netherlands.
Explaining to farther non-Ghanaian fans that will definitely not get what Adjoa means, this little lecturing goes: in the Ghanaian Akan christening culture, every girl child born on a Monday is automatically called Adjoa. This builds the obvious mass inference that Mariseya is a Monday born, so her EP title bearing “Adjoa” then makes it a mini self-dedication body of work.
Dubbed as “Journey of Adjoa”, the EP is then a project that is laced up with audio stories that point to some heartfelt pages of Mariseya’s music career journal.
It’s safe to tag “JoA” as “popularly relatable”, as it is tracked with contents everyone can relate to. The project is not a mere Mariseya memoir.
All the six tracks on Mariseya’s “JoA” were not boxed into one genre. The project comes in AfroFusion, soft alternative rock, pop, dancehall and it has subtle injections Arabic elements. With these, “JoA” hits in different sound preferences to serve several music consumers worldwide.
On “JoA”, Anders Media produced “Journey Prayer”, “Connecta”, “Dream”, “Adjei” and “We Go”. Kiddo Music thus earns a production credit for “Hold It Down” only. He really held it down on the project, per production credit split ratio.
A hint from source said “The Journey of Adjoa” hits the digital stores this quarter.
