On Saturday 18th October, the sixth edition of the annual Volta Fashion Week will be held in Aflao on the inner premises of T-Square Arena, off the Makavo hotel road.
Under the twin-lingual hash theme #AnglophoneMeetsFrancophone, the haul of this year’s Volta Fashion Week is slated to run across two days, on 17th and 18th October, to celebrate fashion, art, music and culture with a mixed audience of English and French speaking African countries.
On Friday 17th, which falls on the Weazor festival day, Volta Fashion Week opens with a festive euphoria by kicking off with a street fashion show, music concert and an outdoor seminar on the basket ball court in Aflao-Lowcost. This starts at 3:30pm. The fleet of guests invited to grace the kickoff are several dignified nationals of Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Cameroon, Nigeria, Togo, Benin, Gabon, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda.
On Saturday 18th, the grand part of the event which is the conferring of awards and honours on individuals and institutions will be blazed at T-Square Arena, Aflao. The prior red carpet segment starts at 5pm, but the awards and honours segment starts at 7pm.
The awards and honours segment is programmed with fashion runway walks, art exhibitions, music performances, a simultaneous side photoshoot stand and other accompanying activities.
The performers that are officially listed to perform in the Volta Fashion Week’s stage are: Morgan Nero (an artiste), Rhena Blaq (an artiste), Maa Afia-Spirit of Africa (a cultural troupe), Antiquarians (a dance group) and others in the streams of the art profession.
The after party dubbed “VFW25 Models & Bottles” will be held at Makavo Hotel at 1pm, right on Saturday 18th, under the sole hostage of Hypower MC (Moses Blay).
