Returning to music after a five year hiatus, REDfyah assumes the new stage name Ancestral Sahyid and comes with a tribute track for Ghana’s president John Dramani Mahama to honour and celebrate his refreshed presidency and role modelship.
The tribute track, dubbed 2JM, is laced on Sahyid’s six-tracked ReBirth EP which significantly announces his glorious return to music and that is a highly-revered significance he co-relates to the President’s return to power and his concurrent return to music, even as he and the President are from the same home town and they concurrently have made a return to positions that they lost and have now re-occupied.
“Growing up in Bole, where President John Dramani Mahama and I are from, I have always admired his rise through politics and I found a great inspiration in his political career, achievements and statemanship pedigree”, Ancestral Sahyid intimately shared his alltime admiration for the president.
The somehow riddling alphanumeral and artistically coined street slang “2JM” expands as “To John Mahama”, simply denoting that the tribute track is a personally directed musical letter to John Dramani Mahama, but no other. In the “2JM” track, Sahyid glorifies the President and sings highly of his over two decade praiseworthy political commitment towards the development of Ghana from the lower political ranks to his two-time presidency.
Officially, Ancestral Sahyid’s ReBirth EP hits the blogs on 16th April. Following up after the release are visuals of the project’s lead promo singles and a media tour to widen the project’s publicity.
