Ghana’s significantly famous northern multi-genre artiste REDfyah after a five year hiatus from the music scene, returns as Ancestral Sahyid with a ready-for-immediate-release EP project dubbed Rebirt up his sleeve and his overly-starved home and remote fans are in great anticipation for their returning idol’s new sounds and promo visuals.
The yet unfilled musical nostalgia that Ancestral Sahyid has created with his long absence REDfyah hasn’t only resulted in a prolonged starvation of new music and a paused relish on his old songs for his loyal fans, but it also deprived them of the yearly repeated euphoric experience they used to have off his annual live band Peace, Love and Unity signature concert which he was staging in the Savanah Region of Ghana as a community give-back musical service.
In each concert period in the past, the old REDfyah bussed from the south regions a commited crew of management executives, instrumentalists, back vocalists, affiliate media persoinalities, videographers and event management professionals towards the success of Peace, Love & Unity. His white European and American team executives also flew in to see to the successful staging of the concert.
The old REDfyah was identified with a mystic presence on stage and many attributed his mystic charisma to his deadlocks, but as he is returning as Sahyid with a baldhead. Asked why he cut off his deadlocks, he said he wore the dreadlocks for a timed spiritual covenant which has now elapsed, thus the need to cut them off.
Laced up on Ancestral Sahyid’s five-tracked Rebirth EP are “Matrix”,
“Freedom”,
“The Rain”,
“Black Sheep”, “2JM” and
“Love & Light”.
All the Rebirth tracks were singularly produced by Soul Sound, Sahyid’s private sound engineer. Rebirth, according to the artiste, is a multi-genre project.

The Rebirth EP joins Sahyid’s music catalog as his second major body of work, his “City of Gold” album holds the maiden spot. Between the two majors are a good count of well-received singles.
The Rebirth EP is scheduled for an early April release.
Sahyid attributes his hiatus to drained coffers and his undeniable need to attend to personal and family commitments while he worked on his finances to launch a strong come-back.
