The RTM team executives have hinted their affiliated media groups of bloggers, hype men, radio reps, TV hosts, influencers and fan base chapter heads that they’ve hit the ground with preparations towards a star-stud concert in Accra within the year’s fourth quarter.
Unquestionably, RTM is hosting the concert for Ras Amankwatia, their label’s only artiste who triples as the CEO and founder of RTM.
Team RTM choosing Accra as the venue for their 2025 homecoming concert is a swift shift from Kumasi, the two-time venue for their first and second editions of Ras Amankwatia & Friends concert.
The swift venue shift decision, according to source hint, stemmed from event resentments in Bantama that got the team deeply unhappy, thus they turned their eyes to Accra this time to serve a new foreign audience.
Ras Amankwatia has, over the years, built a more stronger fan base in Kumasi with very memorable concerts. The most notable among his Kumasi concert performances is his 2023 campus performance at OKESS (his high school alma mata) which he had Andy of Mentor One fame on stage for a massively applauded co-highlight artiste set.
Feasibly, Team RTM’s selecting Accra for their 2025 concert is a clever decision, even as they pin point Nima as their target Accra venue and Nima is a prime dancehall community that fully embraces the dancehall culture as is done in Jamaica, thus their concert’s bill will have Nima artistes whose songs are already popular across Nima and its environs like Mamobi, Kotobabi, New Town, Pig Farm, Circle, Adabraka and Osu.
Undoubtedly, dancehall enthusiasts from equally strong dancehall communities like Shukura, Madina, Kasoa, Ashaiman and Jamestown will are most likely to troop to Nima to watch Ras Amankwatia and his colleague dancehall artistes, thus it is safe to estimate not less than a crowd of 5000 spectators for the concert if Team RTM gives the concert a prior wide publicity.
As always, Ras Amankwatia will have Wan Row and Singjay on his concert bill as his key guest artistes as he plays with the two on every gig he puts up in Ghana. The Ras’ Nima concert bill will definitely have Nima sensations on it, as well as a vantage selection of seasoned reggae and dancehall artistes that have earned quite a significant level of popularity in Accra with consistent stage appearance and online presence.
Team RTM hinted that the Accra 2025 Ras Amankwatia and Friends concert will come off Septermber or October.
Two weeks prior to the event date, Ras Amankwatia will fly in from London to spearhead radio and TV interviews with his key guest artistes to widen the publicity for the concert.
