Chef Maamle’s maiden Accra edition of her food train event dubbed MK Buffet Experience on May 1 inside Bayview Village, Accra, ended fixing memories of several great tastes in the mind’s of the participants and most of left the venue so nostalgic to taste her tongue-pleasing dishes again sooner at the next MK Pop-Up Buffet Experience than much too later.
Themed as “Taste Ghana”, the Bayview Village stop MK Pop-Up Buffet Experience was strictly ran on good old Ghanaian dishes and its menu train was decorated with over 40 super aromatic Ghanaian dishes. Each of Ghana’s 16 regions had multiple dish representations on the menu, thus wherever any participant comes from in Ghana, he or she had a memorable table opportunity to eat some of his or her region’s top popular dishes at the event.
The over 40 dish tags displayed on the event’s long menu train at the start of the event played up an inevitable appetite-whetting visual effect on the early bird participants and the anticipation the effect built in them got most of them craving to file by the menu train to massacre their favourite dish in sight.
The event was graced by high profile personalities like Simone Giger [the Switzerland ambassador to Ghana, Togo and Benin], popular Ghanaian media personalities like Akuma Mama Zimbi, Gifty Anti and others. A good count of celebrity food vloggers, top bloggers and 3Music TV were in attendance to cover the event to aid its wide publicity on social media.
Chef Maamle started her MK Pop-Up Buffet Experience program in 2024 and she has then staged the event in five editions in iconic venues outside Accra before bringing it to Accra’s Bayview Village for the event’s maiden edition in Accra on 1st May, 2026. She has now decided to make the event annual in Accra with the further intention to stage it in other regions in Ghana and further more in other countries. She has already staged a special edition in Dubai in a yacht and she’s looking forward to hit South Africa too with it soon.
In 2024, Chef Maamle staged her MK Pop-Up Buffet Experience for the first time ever in Ada Estuary in Easter. She had an Ada repeat right in 2024 in December in Big Ada on a private island. In 2025, Ada Foah’s Riverside Hotel got hit with the third edition. Akosombo in December 2025 had the fourth edition.
The Dubai experience marked the fifth edition.

As hinted by Chef Maamle, the next MK Pop-Up Buffet Experience will be staged in Accra and it will be continued as an annual in Accra, yet she will also be staging the event in other places in Ghana and abroad.
Probably, the MK Pop-Up Buffet Experience is a party run to popularize Ghanaian dishes or revive them and it subtly doubles as an “Eat Ghana” agenda, on the sly. The event always brings into sharp remembrance certain long-forgotten Ghanaian dishes that are less cooked in most urban Ghanian homes or not sold as regulars at restaurants, thus a lot of the event’s participants return home with the burning nostalgia to revisit the dishes they grew up on. The urge on an MK Pop-Up Buffet Experience participant to cook any of those forgotten dishes at his or her family home then helps in introducing the dish to that family home’s new generation.
