Coming out hot anytime in March on Solomon Bosumtwi-Sam’s Tango One channel on YouTube is Westise Deportees, a reality movie that depicts and predicts some of the most likely backhome woes of some illegal African immigrants that Trump will deport back to Africa.
The massive surprise anticipation that the two-minute Westside Deportees trailer has built in locals and Ghanaians in the diaspora foretells how well the full blast will be received when released and that goes on to confirm that many Ghanaians are very curious to witness the effects of Trump’s mass deportation exercise on Ghanaian Deportees that don’t have survival provisions to fall back on back at home when they get deported from America.
In the core story of Westide Deportees, two Junka Town brothers [Too Much and Shuuge Knight] have been deported to Ghana broke to a hard life of no close hope, as the two never made any life investment back home in Ghana while they were living a good life in America. In their mutual quest to survive the twist and turns of hard life in Sekondi, they resort to hustle hard for a meagre wage as petty porters for Ziggy, an irritable boatswain that supplies fish to hotels, restaurants and on-shore fish mongers. Too Much and Shuuge Knight now have hit crunch time and are helplessly to give in to Ziggy’s back and call or suffer hunger.
As the story unfolds, it rolls out alarming lessons of immigrant prodigality in the west, a failed chase for greener pastures, real life unpreparedness, social status deception and the tragic end or decline of affluent people that don’t make solid future plans.
Westside Deportees was fully shot in the retro urban settings of the good old Sekondi and it features Solomon Bosumtwi-Sam’s well-trained Junka Town cast.
